Traffic and Criminal Matters

I also handle traffic tickets and a limited number of criminal cases. North Carolina has a peculiar framework for handling traffic tickets and, often, a simple speeding ticket can cause problems with the status of your driver's license or a dramatic increase in your auto insurance rates. In many cases, I can have your speeding charge reduced to a civil infraction of improper equipment, which will not appear on your driving record, or obtain a prayer for judgment, when necessary and available.
The majority of the criminal cases that I handle are domestic-related, including charges of assault on a female, simple assault, communicating threats, and violation of a domestic violence protective order. I handle each of these types of charges in a manner to eliminate or reduce any effect the charge may have on custody, alimony, or other family issues. I usually charge a flat fee for these matters, depending on the nature and complexity of the charge.

Wills and Estate

We provide a personalized approach to our clients who need wills or estate planning services. We first listen to our clients' needs and wishes, and then evaluate issues relating to estate and gift planning, trusts, health care, and education funding. In addition, we provide personal support and counsel in the settlement and administration of estates.

Corporations

We can also assist you in forming a business entity, including corporations, professional associations and limited liability companies. This is often an area that people tend to overlook as they start a new business, and we can help ensure that you are protected and that you select a business format that is right for you.
